52-Card Pick Up

Playing Your Cards Right

Welcome to a wonderful week!  In this episode, I am going to discuss an age-old favorite – the 52-Card Pick Up.  But what about when it relates to your life?

cards

The classic game of 52-Card Pick Up brings back so many childhood memories, doesn’t it?  I remember being excited to play it, at least the first time, anyway.

Then we grow up and become adults.  We become responsible for ourselves, start a career, possibly get married and even start a family….

This game takes on a whole new meaning when it becomes an analogy for our lives.  In this message, I want to share with you ways to avoid having the cards of your life raining down upon you in a messy heap on the floor.  I want to challenge you to find that one thing in life that will allow all the other cards to fall into place.  Then build upon that.  If you do this, Friends, you will win.

Zeal Without Knowledge

Pay Attention to Those Around You

Are you an excitable person?  Do you live a life full of energy and enthusiasm?  If so, that’s a great way to live your life!  But think about this…  How does your zeal affect those around you?  Do you stop to consider someone else who may be struggling to find any zeal at all in their day or current situation?

Zeal without knowledge can sometimes cause more harm than good to those around us, although that was never the intention.  There are times when we need to pause and consider the feelings others.  If someone is angry, sad, or hurt, we need to be cognizant of that and respect their feelings.

Does that mean we have to change our outlook or conform to those who are less excitable?  No!

What it does mean, though, is that we should take our zeal and feed it into others.  Sometimes you will have to do this gently, depending on the circumstances.  The act of encouraging and uplifting others looks different with each person.  But I guarantee you, Friends, it will eventually make a difference in the lives of others.

What is Your Mirror Saying to You?

What do you see when you look into the mirror?  Do you critique what you see, or do you find the positive?  Now, how about in life…  When things don’t work out they way you want them to, how do you respond?

That little voice you hear when you look into the mirror isn’t always so little.  In fact, it can pack a punch.  No matter what may be seen by others around us, when we look into the mirror, sometimes the only voice we listen to is ours.  This often transitions into how we see circumstances in life in general – every circumstance, whether good or bad.

Here is my challenge to you…  Instead of focusing on the negative side of situations, try to find something positive – no matter how small it may be.  Take any negative thoughts captive, and turn them into positive affirmations.  Friends, if you do this, your outlook will change completely.  Listen below to hear more.
